I spent the day taking the kids to the Dr. , sledding with Hailey and getting rid of our tree. Since I also have the flu the house didn't cleaned. I wanted to get a little done...the kids decided they had to "leave mokmy alone for a minute. We better go for a ride." So they saddled up and rode off into the sunset.

A Super Christmas
We had a very exciting, extremly busy week leading up to Christmas. It was full of late nights and long days culminating in a 6 hour drive on Christmas Eve. Given all the craziness it came as no suprise that we all had the flu on Chrismas day. It kind of killed the excitment when ot came to candy in the stockings, and the coffee cake. However the.kids loved thier presents, especially the gifts they gave eachother. My Hailey Monster LOVES super man and has always been jealous of Blake's onsies so he got her Superman PJ's and she got him more onsies! They sat together and Hailey told him all about how.super they were and to be honest just being home with them, even as horribly sick as they were, was really super.

Hunting like Daddy

Do you want a piece of Candy?!?
Everyone knows that we all go down that bad parent road. The road that bribes our children to use the potty. My daughter loves this. She only gets a piece of candy from me when she asks after she goes. Occasionally I bribe her by telling her if she sits on the potty and goes she can have one smarty! She'll go potty and say" I want a piece of candy. I want a smarty pants mommy." Randy got her a bag of tootsi pops and she gets them when she poo's or when he's feeling generous. The other day after a successful attempt I gave her a tootsi pop. Then I shut her out so I could take care of my business. Her sweet little voice floats in to me " If you go potty you can have a lick." As I exit I drop a kiss on her forehead and she asks " Did you pee mommy?"" Why yes, yes I did." " You can have a lick for going pee. Good job mommy." What a sweaty. Today she violated my rules of privacy and waltzed in during my personal time. " What do you think you are doing?" You are going potty. Do you want a piece of canny?" What can I say... I did want a piece of canny.

Throw him down and tie him up!
My daughter loves the rodeo! Ever since her first rodeo she has been enthralled with calf roping. She just loves the way those cowboys leap off their horses and throw down the calves and tie them up! She loves it so much that she often leaps off her "horsey", throws down a stuffed animal and ties it up. Lately she's been preoccupied by her "baby brudder." He has become the center of her little word. And now he is the center of her rodeo.
I left the room the other day only to find him being tied up with some ribbon. The next day she was using my measuring tape. I don't think he's safe anywhere. She tells me that he told her too... I bet he can't wait until he can talk!

I am loved
I am loved. I know this because my kids are loving me to death! I have bruises all over my legs from Hailey climbing on them to "nuggle" when I'm feeding Blake. I know they love me because, both of them, constantly want to be with me. Poor Daddy gets left out. I will sit down on the couch to feed Blake and watch a show after dinner, ( We try to limit TV time so everyone wants to watch a "movie" at this point.) Randy will sit on the other couch, and where do you think Hailey will sit? As close to me as she can get. Randy will beg, cajole, and plead. She won't budge. Unless there is ice cream involved, in which case I'm old news, until the ice cream is gone. Then she's back! I will then pass off her brother to his Daddy and snuggle my Hailey. Then Blake will, almost EVERY time, puke on his Daddy.
Blake loves me too. Not just because I smell like food. He knows me and wants me around. The other Day I took Hailey for a bike ride. Apparently Blake was very upset while we were gone. Hailey and I, unaware of the crying and complaining that was going on at home ( I'm sure Blake was fussy too) took our time. When we got home I found that the dog had pooed in the yard. AGAIN! That's a story for another day though so we'll get back to how my kids love me and not how the dog is trying really hard to make me step in his crap. I said to Hailey, " Ew! Dog poopy! I'm going to scoop the yard. Run in and see Daddy." Apparently as soon as my son heard my voice he calmed right down. He knew I'd be coming soon. He just wanted to know I was there. I am loved. Though some days I feel like I'm being loved to death there really is no better feeling.
